Please pray for two of my good friends from the Dao tribe "Obapwi" and "Wusimpa." By Dao standards, they are pretty old, especially Obapwi. Obapwi is a very gentle and quiet tempered man. I almost didn't believe them when they told us that he had murdered his two previous wives, some years ago. Allegedly, his wives had worked magic, and according to Dao culture, Obapwi had to kill his wives, or else he too, would be killed.
Just last week, I got word from Scott and Jennie Phillips (my co-workers in the Dao) that Obapwi and Wusimpa are being hunted by the Deguwo clan. When Obapwi and Wusimpa were young, supposedly their families wiped out most of the Deguwo clan by magic. The Deguwo have now come looking for pay back. Already they have burned down the huts of Obapwi and Wusimpa
Scott told Obapwi and Wusimpa that he would try to talk to the Deguwo when they come, but I guess Obapwi and Wusimpa are very afraid and hiding out in the jungle somewhere.
Please Pray the Lord to spare the lives of our two friends, and not just that, but to save their souls.
Mt 4:16 (NKJV) The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death, Light has dawned."
Please pray for Dao people, that soon, they would see and understand this light.
During times like this, it is hard for us to be away from our friends in the Dao. We want to be right there with them to help in their time of need. We are thankful for our co-workers that are there, and are greatly comforted in knowing our Sovereign Loving Lord is their and will intervene in the way He sees just and fit.

Hey There!
I realized that I should probably comment on your blog more and let you know that we're praying for you both in your studies. I was so thrilled to read that your partners are learning that the Dao tribe was waiting for you 'white faced missionaries' :)
We are doing quite well. Homeschooling is fun and I have procrastinated at doing the dishes all day and am thinking I should gravitate in that direction soon.
I'll try commenting more often on your blog. (I do check it a few times a week- so don't be bashful...post all the pictures you want or notes ) I love hearing about what is new with you and how we can pray for you!!!
