In March, we took a two week trip into Dao to begin clearing land for our future house. Also, it was a great time for Sarah to finally meet and get to know our co-workers, Scott and Jennie. Here's a few pictures of our time there.

Sarah's first time on a helicopter. A great way to travel!

Derek with a little Dao boy. We don't know his name yet, sorry.

This is the tribal "chief's" wife.
They don't really have a tribal leader, but he is the "big man" in the tribe.

Scott teaching the literacy class. The people are doing great!
Starting to get some good readers.

Our plot of land for our house. (It's a fixer upper ;))

These men worked hard for 2 weeks to clear all the jungle for our house.
It's looking much better eh?

The hard workers. Derek, his brother Sean, and Yehia.

Derek and Sean testing out some bows

Us with Scott and Jennie, waiting for the heli to come in and pick us up.
We had an awesome time! Can't wait to go back and build our house in a few months.

Does Canada even feel like home to you? sometimes i'm not quite sure myself. I pulled in to the gas station the other day and told the attendant to fill me up, and he looked at me weird and asked what i meant...i'd said it in spanish. :)
