Yesterday Derek went to the travel agent to pick up his ticket to take the ship to Nabire with all our belongings, and they said they didn't have one for him (they could have told him that 2 days ago when he went in there to order them). Regardless, we finished all our packing, loaded everything into 2 vehicles and this morning Derek and 2 other men drove to the port. Once they arrived at the port, they went to the office. We expected to have to put our belongings in the wet, dirty cargo hold while Derek slept in economy (not the cleanest or nicest place to stay. Economy is just a whole bunch of mattresses spread out over a large room and everyone has to fight to get a bed. If you don't get a bed, then you have to find a dry corner to sleep on the floor with the cockroaches.). I, Sarah, stayed at home and prayed that the Lord would provide a nice room in upper class big enough for Derek and all our stuff. When Derek phoned a few hours later, he was standing out near the loading dock with 5 Indonesian guys (who were going to help him carry the boxes onto the ship) and 1 first class ticket for a room with 4 beds in his hands! When the ship arrived, they loaded all the stuff into Derek's room with plenty of space left over for Derek to rack out on a clean bed in a quiet room all to himself. Thank you Lord!! His ship left sometime this evening (Friday) and should arrive sometime tomorrow evening. Derek had help to get the stuff on the ship, but won't have anyone to help him once he arrives in Nabire. He has to find someone with a truck and then find trustworthy guys to help carry boxes to the truck from the ship (no easy task). So, if he comes to mind, please pray that he'd find some trustworthy guys to help, a good sized truck, and all the stuff (and Derek of-course!) would be safe and unharmed. Pray that Derek would remain calm and the Lord would just work all the details out, as He already has!

We are all rejoicing over this great news. Dad read Scott's letter in church and we all rejoiced to hear the wonderful news and Dad reminded everyone there that they are part of the team to see even more Dao people reached with the gospel. This is just the beginning!
Love, Mom
