Dao Bags = "Woman's Work"
Originally uploaded by Derek & Sarah Grant.
The Dao women are the ones who make their traditional string bags. They gather bark fibers and roll them together to make string.
Then they weave bags with it. They also use this string to make their traditional grass skirts. Sarah has been learning how to make
the string bags this past week. This is a photo of Onepadeo showing Sarah how to make them.
Where Sarah is, the 2 girls in the photo (Paiipedeo and Akadeo) are usually not far away. Girls usually know how to make these bags
around their age. By the time they are older, they are experts!

Thanks for sharing your pictures. The new couch is awesome and you are going to really enjoy it. I love the room and how you decorated. What are the 3 items behind the couch? Love the lamp, too! how did you do making the bag?
Love, Mom Schmidt
