Pray for Bernardus

Bernardus and his family have been dear friends of ours. Bernardus has been sick for awhile now, and the people keep telling us that
he is going to die. They say this about everyone, but this time we think they might be right. Derek hiked an hour to see him
yesterday and he was very thin and dehydrated. Although he is a believer, Derek observed some of their traditional beliefs in the
spirit world as an older man worked "magic" over him to scare away the spirits. Today, Derek hiked back down to bring him medicine.
Please pray that this medicine will help and he'll begin to get better. Also, please pray that he would realize that he is God's
child and no longer needs to fear the spirits. Pray that he would be a testimony of God's work in his life as he learns to put aside
his old beliefs and how to walk according to truth.
Sorry the picture isn't very good. Derek will get a better one today, while he is visiting Bernardus and his family. Bernardus is
the one in the green sweater in the middle.
