Another Dao Passed On

"Todopui departed and went to the Creator one!"

That was the news our friend Paina, brought us yesterday. To us this news is sad, but not hopeless. It causes us to rejoice in
our Lord.

Since the very first time we met him, Todopui accepted us. He was the one who gave us permission to move in here. During the
bible teaching, he always listened attentively, and often encouraged the other Dao about the truths he was learning. When he heard
that His Redeemer, "Jesus," died to pay for his sins, Todopui believed.

Last Wednesday we got word that he was dying, and requesting to hear God's Word one last time. Scott and I hiked down to him.
He was just skin and bones, but coherent. Scott encouraged him with some Scriptures that explained that our salvation is based
solely on Christ. Later today we will hike back down to his funeral.

Chief lived his whole life, in fear of spirits and death. Praise the Lord, he died well. He died with the hope that he would
soon see his Lord!

"Because God's children are human beings-made of flesh and blood- the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being
could He die, and only by dying could He break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could He set
free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying." Hebrews 2:14-15
