Thank you for your kind emails! We so appreciate the encouragement you have been to us, and your faithful prayers. We (Derek and Sarah) are doing better this week as the shock wears off and acceptance begins to sink in. Despite how are hearts are breaking, we have so much to be thankful for! The Grace of our Lord is more than sufficient. Once again, we are learning to throw all our burdens on Him, for his “yoke is easy and his burden is light.” In Him we find rest and peace.
I, Sarah, started language study on Monday. So far there have been a lot of words given to us. Some days it’s a bit overwhelming and I feel like I’m not comprehending anything, but it eventually sinks in and I’m able to use the few sentences I’ve learned to communicate with my neighbors or people we pass on the street. Each day in class I have to get up in front of everyone and tell an experience I had the day before (in Indonesian of-course). Derek and I have been having fun doing different things each day so I’ll have a “cool” experience to tell the next day.
Thank you again for your prayers and encouragement! I’ll try to keep posting new updates as we hear news from home.

What fun! One adventure you could attempt would be to find out how they make cinder blocks in Indonesia. Yesterday I found out that they are made the same way, with the same molds type in Guinea, Africa as they are in Caruaru, Brasil. I wonder if Indo's are any different...
